COSME is the EU programme for the Competitiveness of Enterprises and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). It runs from 2014 to 2020 with a planned budget of €2.3bn. The objective of the Clusters Excellence programme call for proposals is to strengthen cluster management to provide more professional business services to European SMEs and, as a result, to contribute to the development of more world-class clusters in the EU.

The project “Innovation and development in cluster excellence and cooperative partnerships” – INNO-DROP as one of the consortia was responsible for the training of cluster managers in the specific fields of Cluster Benchmarking, Cluster organisation management, Industrial analysis and segmentation, Cluster economics and Change management. INNO-DROP consortium is integrated by BalticNet-PlasmaTec (Germany) – Coordinator,  Nanoprogress (Czech Republic), WATER SENSORS AND MEMBRANES-WSM (France) and  ZINNAE (Spain).

The desire outcomes of both EU funded COSME projects (INNO-DROP and CLUSGRID – Clusters for Smart Grid) are, that the cluster members leverage the course content and tutorials to improve their own clusters at a national and international level. That they strive to create new and lasting frameworks for the long-term sustainability and relevance of their cluster and finally become more empowered as individuals in cluster excellence management.

Both consortia also took advantage of the opportunity to talk about further cooperation with partner form the other consortium. The training was a fully success for all participants and we be continued by a 5 week online training which will be organised by the CLUSGRID consortium.
