#ForTheClimate Community, through its prestigious 10+10 Business Examples initiative, seeks to highlight 20 exemplary companies (10 large companies and 10 SMEs), in the implementation of sustainable good practices in the private sector, key to tackling the climate crisis.

The candidatures of our partners, BIOBOX Water and INGEOBRAS (through its innovation brand Inngen.io), have been awarded in the 6th edition of this call, in the SME category, for their projects “Biological denitrification in the Mar Menor de Murcia” and “BIOEnergHII”, respectively.

Biological denitrification in the Mar Menor of Murcia
This initiative has contributed to the mitigation of pollution in the Mar Menor Lagoon, in Murcia, by applying a patented technology, BIOBOX Nitrates, which has demonstrated its effectiveness and economic viability by achieving a nitrate elimination of more than 97% during the pilot project that lasted 4 months.

Specialised in the design and manufacture of compact water treatment plants, BIOBOX Water S.L. stands out for its automated approach and sustainable technology. This recognition reinforces BIOBOX’s position as a benchmark in sustainable practices and access to advanced technologies.

BIOEnergHII, biohydrogen and biomethane production from industrial wastewater
Developed in collaboration with the Swiss company UniSieve within the Eurostars programme, funded by CDTI and the European Union’s “Horizon Europe” Framework Programme for Research and Innovation. This innovative project is essential to move towards environmentally friendly energy sources. It aims to produce, from industrial wastewater, a mixture of biohydrogen gas and biomethane, in a sustainable way contributing to the production of green energy and reducing the environmental footprint.

This project is currently in research phase and aims to scale up to the commercial phase in the near future. This recognition highlights Inngen.io’s strong commitment to sustainability and emissions reduction, crucial elements in tackling the climate crisis.
