Description
H2iber is an innovative project that seeks to improve the management of water and water resources in renewable hydrogen projects, through the collection of information, the assessment of climate change effects and the design of intelligent and digitised processes.
In a first phase, H2iber will focus on the study in the Autonomous Community of Aragon. Once this stage is completed, it is planned to extend the scope to the entire Iberian Peninsula in two subsequent phases. The expansion of the project will provide a more complete understanding of water management in renewable hydrogen projects in different regions, which will facilitate the implementation of sustainable solutions for hydrogen production throughout the territory. This will help to promote the use of renewable energy sources and foster the transition to a more sustainable economy.
Objectives
The intermediate objectives of H2iber are the following:
-Definition of a database with critical variables related to water management and water resources for hydrogen projects.
– Creation of a database of water resources of interest for specific renewable hydrogen projects. This information will be useful for assessing water availability and designing projects that are sustainable and environmentally friendly.
-Study of the variation of water resources due to the effects of climate change and its impact on hydrogen projects, with the development of a module based on Artificial Intelligence (AI).
-Modelling and digitisation of water and water resource management processes for specific renewable hydrogen projects, in an important step towards Industry 4.0.
Results
First version of the IA module and water and water resources management assessment tool for renewable hydrogen projects, with the geographical scope of Aragon.
