Project description

Z-CARE is a collaborative project that seeks to transform Zaragoza into a climate-neutral, resilient and healthy city by 2030, in line with the European Net Zero Cities Mission. The initiative integrates actions in sustainable mobility, energy efficiency and urban renaturalization, incorporating water resilience and the adaptation of human health to climate change in a cross-cutting manner, with the aim of reducing emissions and improving the quality of life of citizens.

The project is being developed through technological pilots and innovative solutions in real environments, such as intelligent traffic management, energy communities, flood risk simulation and air quality monitoring. All of this is supported by collaboration between clusters, SMEs and research centres, with an approach that can be replicated in other European cities and a special focus on protecting the most vulnerable groups.
