The Water Safety Symposium (WSS) was held in May 2026 at the Pedro Pascual Science Centre in Benasque (Huesca).

It provided an opportunity for the sector to come together, featuring specialist technical sessions and presentations focusing on some of the most pressing challenges, such as the identification of emerging pollutants, the design of resilient systems, and strategies for tackling the global water crisis.

ZINNAE took part by presenting our vision on how to move from water management towards water resilience, highlighting the role of cross-sectoral innovation and collaboration as drivers of real change.

Taking advantage of the WSS framework, a technical workshop for the UPSTREAM HORIZON project was also held in collaboration with ADELPA (Association of Local Authorities of the Aragonese Pyrenees), during which experiences, knowledge and challenges regarding wastewater treatment in rural mountain environments were shared with key local stakeholders.
